Web Design Case Study

Acorn Global Advance is a Christian fundraising company headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina. As stated on their website:
“Acorn Global Advance seeks to connect life-changing local and global Gospel projects to the interests and resources of individuals and groups. Consider us a non-commissioned missions broker. We also enjoy giving donors the confidence that 100% of gifts to Acorn projects are fulfilled without administrative fees.”
Headed by Rick Cross, Acorn uses its website and social media to raise funding for ministries all over the world. Created in 2021, the organization has grown rapidly over the last several months, having already raised more than $25,000 for ministries in Europe, Africa, and Asia. Acorn does an excellent job of identifying effective ministries and promoting them so that they can get the funds they need to continue operations.
I used WordPress, specifically the Divi plugin, to design Acorn’s website. I used an earthy color palette, which consisted of green, brown, and gray. I also used a slightly beige, offwhite color as the background for the web pages. The softer hue of the offwhite takes less of a toll on the eyes than pure white, and also goes along nicely with the earthy color scheme. Overall, I really enjoyed designing the website and was happy to hear that Rick was pleased with the result:
“Jake is outstanding. He does quality work with attention to detail and an eye for attractive components. He has great ideas but also listens well to input. He is super easy to work with and will create whatever you need or take your current designs to the next level. Thanks Jake!”
It was a pleasure to work with Rick and I’m excited to see where Acorn Global Advance goes from here.
